Job Description

Position Title: Welder

Wage: $20-$22/hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd

Hours: 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday, 1:30pm-12am Monday-Thursday (will train on 1st shift)

QPS Employment Group is searching for welding candidates on 1st and 2nd shift in the North Kansas City area. Candidates will need prior work experience in welding or completed welding courses. This company does offer room to grow and even offers performance raises during the contract to hire period.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Apply appropriate welding process to materials and repair welds on parts per specifications

- Perform as a team member which requires you to cross train on other departments

- Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on welding equipment and completed products

- Weld various metals such as stainless steel and galvanized

- Read and understand tape measures, various gauges, work orders, charts and safety regulations

- Knowledge and skills of five welding processes (Fuel Gas, Gas Metal Arc, Gas Tungsten Arc)

Welder Requirements:

- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively

- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended amounts of time

- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel as needed

- High level of attention to detail and organized

- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with customers, coworkers, and leaders

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Must be proficient with computers, including handheld scanners

- Function with a team, take direction, and have a positive attitude always
