This position is responsible for the efficient operating of the beauty salon according to the procedures and developing and environment where there is a commitment and focus on providing the best service and quality. The Salon manager is responsible for the daily supervision of the Salon staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates and reinforces excellent customer service to promote a positive customer orientation in the Salon and ensure efficient, quality service.
• Recruit, select, trains/develops and evaluates salon staff to assure that staff levels meet salon needs.
• Promotes and maintains high standards of technical quality in the salon.
• Enforces Fisher Island Club policies and procedures; keeps informed of employments laws and maintains personal files for each employee.
• Maintains excellent communication within the salon; builds positive, fun working relationship with staff and promotes team work.
• Manages and monitors all areas of salon operations to ensure salon runs smooth.
• Follows and reinforces proper appearance and apparel standards.
• Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet salon needs.
• Manages opening and closing of salon.
• Schedule effectively to manage payroll cost and ensure staff productivity.
• Keep up-to date current and new products in the Salon.
• Follows and reinforces proper sales techniques for sale of retail products.
• Maintain equipment and reinforces salon cleanliness and appearance to ensure a positive customer perception of the salon.
• Manages and monitors all computers reports and functions to ensure accurate customer records are maintained and required reports are available when needed.
• The ability to review all suggestions and comments from residents, members and guests and make necessary adjustments.

• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the completion of job duties related to matters of significance

• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality
• Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge to include Word/Excel/Outlook
• Knowledge of spa/salon operations and trends
• Knowledge of salon trends to include hair/nail products/services
• POS experience
• Work is performed in a Salon environment and requires a 6-day working week,
• evening, weekend and holiday hours. Extended periods of standing, walking is required.
• Valid Florida driver’s license to operate golf cart

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to lead a wide variety of challenging activities in an indoor setting.
• Able to lift to 20-40 lbs. regularly
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, twist and stand for long periods of time
• Stand, bend, pull, scoop, and reach through-out shift
• Mobility to move freely throughout different surfaces, grass, sand, concrete, etc. on a continual basis
• Standing/walking is required a minimum of 8 hours per shift

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma/GED equivalent
• More than two years of post-high school education related to spa/health and fitness.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a service/retail/hospitality industry.

• Knowledge of beauty/barber salon operations.
