We are seeking a skilled Interior Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in CATIA V5 and Creo. The role involves developing and designing engineering documentation, including 3D models, drawings, and CAD modules/assemblies. The ideal candidate will mature products in the CAD system, redesign existing models, and ensure quality and readiness before release.

Job Title: Interior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Greensboro, NC
Pay Rate: $50/hour
Experience Required: 5+ years

Key Responsibilities:

Design components in CAD using CATIA V5 and Creo.
Develop and mature engineering documentation such as drawings, 3D models, and CAD modules/assemblies.
Redesign existing models, including small-area redesigns.
Perform analysis and draw conclusions based on provided products and procedures.
Create assemblies of CAD models, detect, report, and resolve packaging conflicts.
Ensure quality and readiness of designs before release.
Define technical drawing standards for verifying product geometrical properties.
Produce technical drawings to define and communicate product specifications.

Additional Responsibilities:

Support junior team members and peers.
Act as a role model by sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.
Serve as a trainer or coach for team members.
Build a broader "T-shaped" skill profile while developing deeper expertise in the field.
Collaborate confidently within the wider Volvo Group network.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Designer in CAD engineering.
Proficiency in CATIA V5 and Creo packages.

Skills:Advanced knowledge in developing and designing engineering documentation.
Strong analytical skills to assess and refine designs.
Ability to produce and verify technical drawings and 3D models.
Proficiency in identifying and resolving CAD model packaging conflicts.

Soft Skills:Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
