**PLEASE NOTE, THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED TO TRAVEL BETWEEN THE SALAMANCA, NY & IRVING, NY WORK SITES**

BASIC FUNCTION :

Incumbent is responsible for operating X-Ray equipment, running CR reader, and sending digital images to radiologist. Prepares patients room, equipment and supplies. Provides patient services using imaging modalities. Responsible to travel between both Territories as required.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Translates physicians orders into correct radiographic procedures. Prepares and educates patients about the imaging procedure.
2. Performs diagnostic imaging examinations using X-ray machines and other specialized equipment as required.
3. Position patients on examination tables and ensure proper alignment for imaging procedures. Provide clear instructions to patients to minimize movement during the imaging process.
4. Provides a safe, comfortable environment for patients of all ages, and assists the patient while transferring both before, and after, the imaging procedure.
5. Follows prescribed X-ray techniques in administering general and specific imaging in order to produce high quality, usable results.
6. Observes patient and equipment during procedure and reports equipment failures.
7. Prepare imaging equipment for procedures, including calibrating and adjusting settings as necessary.
8. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment and treatment room and perform routine maintenance tasks as needed.
9. Maintains stock supplies and performs general medical office duties.
10. Works to promote cooperative staff efforts to provide and maintain high quality service to patients, physicians and other staff to assure quality patient care.
11. Creates a monthly log of x-rays performed, along with codes and fees for each x-ray.
12. Must keep up with quality assurance testing on all equipment per protocol and keep records per QA requirements.
13. Keep records organized and up to date for state inspections.
14. Responsible for tracking, shipment, and wearing of x-ray dosimeter and associated reports.
15. Organize quarterly Radiation Safety Meetings and keeping agenda and/or minutes per protocol.
16. Attends all mandatory staff meetings and in-services.
17. Adheres to department policies and procedures.
18. Follows all policies of the SNHS.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

1. Proven work experience as a Radiology Technician or similar role.
2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills.
3. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. The ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipment.
5. The physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistance.
6. CPR/BLS required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Radiologic Technology Program Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required. Current NYS licensure required. 3-years experience and ability to work independently.
