About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice Chancellor for Human Resources to serve as the chief HR officer for the system, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for all HR functions across its 23 campuses. The successful candidate will be a seasoned and innovative HR leader with a strong background in all aspects of the HR enterprise, including talent acquisition, strategic workforce planning, learning and development, labor and employee relations, and civil rights. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and system requirements, as well as fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Vice Chancellor will also be responsible for leading a large HR team, providing guidance on best practices, and supporting the Chancellor's vision for the future of work. Candidates for the Vice Chancellor position should have a master's degree in HR management, business administration, or a related field, with at least 10 years' of HR management experience in complex environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in change management, organizational excellence, and a deep commitment to the mission of the company. Experience in a highly unionized environment and knowledge of California labor laws is preferred. The role requires a leader with excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and a strong focus on continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making. Personal characteristics should include a passion for educational access, innovation, and a commitment to the highest ethical standards.
