Job Description

Position Overview:

The Product Development Associate, Textiles will report to the Vice President of Product Development and work closely with the Product Development Manager. The position will assist in all aspects of the product development process from concept to market introduction to the retail sales shelf.

Essential Job Functions:

• Develop and maintain a product development time and action calendar to track progress of new developments
• Develop sew spec standards for new products
• Develop and establish costing for custom hospitality requests
• Develop and establish costing for certain categories
• Daily communication with cut and sew facilities and packaging suppliers
• Manage the process for product packaging and product labeling information for certain categories
• Communicate and resolve quality control issues with suppliers
• Manages testing of products with outside laboratory
• Assist in product set up during market week
• Possible travel to overseas suppliers

Requirements:

• 4+ year of experience in product development, home industry a plus
• College education
• Knowledge of fabrics and home textiles industry
• Strong color sense and ability to distinguish color
• Possess strong computer skills- Word and Excel, Photoshop a plus
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Excellent follow-up skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Work both independently and as an effective member of the team
• Strong attention to detail

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
