Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to help manage client financials. In this role, you will research, analyze, and prepare financial statements, while ensuring effective communication with clients to ensure smooth accounting processes. You'll work closely with internal teams and software systems to maintain accurate financial records. This is a remote position that reports to the Director of Accounting, with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from clients and relevant software systems.
Record client inventories and transactions on a regular basis.
Troubleshoot software issues with team members and clients, ensuring correct mapping and coding in the system.
Import banking transactions and maintain cash flow tools for clients.
Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy in assets, liabilities, expenses, sales, and costs.
Review profit and loss statements and balance sheets, making adjustments and period-end accruals when necessary.
Prepare, audit, and file various tax forms and quarterly filings.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned clients.
Provide clear and prompt communication with clients to clarify accounting and financial details.
Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Accounting or other key stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
Strong ability to collaborate with clients and team members.
Excellent project management skills with a keen eye for detail and efficiency.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Technical aptitude in using automated accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
Required Experience & Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
At least one year of experience as a General Ledger (GL) Accountant.
Background in the restaurant industry, including Front of House (FOH), Back of House (BOH), or management experience.
Candidates with 5+ years of accounting experience may be considered, even without a degree.
Comfortability with cloud-based systems and willingness to learn new software tools.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required, leading to overtime.
