Position Overview
We're looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Staff Accountant to manage financial information and prepare accurate financial statements. In this role, you'll communicate with clients to gather data, troubleshoot issues, and ensure satisfaction. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this position requires working independently while collaborating with clients and colleagues to deliver excellent results.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate financial statements by collecting and analyzing client data from multiple sources.
Record client inventories, transactions, and banking data using cloud-based accounting systems.
Ensure proper recording of assets, liabilities, expenses, and sales by maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
Analyze and troubleshoot software mapping and coding issues to ensure data accuracy.
Process journal entries, such as period-end accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and reclassification adjustments.
Prepare and file various tax forms, including quarterly filings and local business tax renewals.
Conduct quarterly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned clients.
Address questions from clients regarding financial reports, account balances, and cash flow.
Collaborate on special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of one year of experience as a General Ledger Accountant.
Background in the restaurant industry (front-of-house, back-of-house, or management) is required.
Candidates with extensive accounting experience (5+ years) without a degree will be considered.
Comfortable working in cloud-based systems and learning new software platforms.
Additional Notes
This role may occasionally require evening or weekend work, resulting in overtime.
