Description
Interpretation of one language.
Provides accurate and impartial on-site spoken language interpretation services requiring advanced proficiency in oral and written English and one foreign language or language dialect with preference for native or near native fluency in the language of interpreting. Fluent English pronunciation is required. Professional level medical interpreting and knowledge of medical vocabulary to assist Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients and SMC medical personnel to ensure linguistically appropriate care. Acts as a cultural broker and patient advocate as directed in addition to assisting LEP patients to access a full range of Swedish services.

Required Qualifications:
National Certified Medical Interpreter - National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters upon hire. Or
Washington Social Services Interpreter - Washington State Department of Social and Health Services upon hire.
1 year of Interpretation experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Coursework/Training: Continuing education and/or training preferred in medical interpretation competencies, translation and medical terminology/phrases or equivalent experience.
3 years of Interpretation experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting.

Pay Range: $26.30 - $40.25
The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
