The Social Media Marketing Coordinator serves as a key member of the Global Refuge Executive Communications Team & President's Office and is responsible for developing and implementing creative and disruptive social media strategies to help increase engagement and build the brand on CEO and owned channels. *This flexible, hybrid role will be primarily remote, in the DMV region, with the expectation of weekly visits to Baltimore headquarters.

DUTIES

• Develop a social media calendar and create social content for the Global Refuge CEO to amplify our messaging and influence.
• Lead and manage creative digital campaigns and projects for the CEO from ideation to implementation to analysis to explore testing new ways to assert online visibility.
• Build mission-aligned relationships with social media influencers, in coordination with the organization's social media manager, that introduce
• +our work to new and diverse audiences.
• Attend, photograph, and post about CEO and organizational events.
• Engage with audiences across CEO channels to encourage a robust conversation.
• Keep up to date on the latest social media trends to identify and recommend strategic opportunities to expand onto new and emerging platforms.
• Provide regular reports and analysis across key performance metrics with insights for strategy adjustments.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, social media management, or a similar field, or a combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of experience managing social media and/or marketing initiatives for a business or non-profit organization (i.e.: political campaign, educational institution, consumer-facing brand) with at least 2 years of experience managing the social media content and analytics for a principal such as a president, CEO, Dean, or major political figure.
• Experience shooting and creating creative and compelling content across digital platforms.
• Proven ability to craft stories that capture attention and drive engagement.
• Knowledge of earned and paid strategies to build followers and engagement across social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and TikTok.
• Creative and innovative with an ability to bring fresh ideas for content to the CEO and Communications team on a regular basis.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with social media influencers that align with the mission of an organization.
• High degree of proficiency in Adobe products, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, social media management tools, and other necessary programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner and team player with an entrepreneurial spirit, ready to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.
• Demonstrate a curiosity and passion for social justice related causes including immigration and refugee issues.
• Ability and willingness to work outside of office hours as needed due to breaking news, events, and emergencies.
• Commitment to Global Refuge's core mission and values and an ability to model those values in relationship with colleagues and partners; commitment to empowering refugees and migrants.
