Position Summary The Senior Design Researcher position at Walmart conducts UX research that influences our product roadmaps and informs design. You represent the perspective of our users to help understand their needs, motivations, and pain points. Responsibilities Run workshops and conduct generative and evaluative research. Story-telling and presenting deliverables to executives. Pull from a broad toolkit of research methods, including live studies, un-moderated studies, field studies, participatory design, heuristic evaluations, and remote usability testing. Prioritize initiatives with key stakeholders. Proactively solicit and leverage competitive research, data, and analytics to inform design and business strategy. Champion the Design Thinking philosophy while collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners. Communicate effectively with kindness and empathy, including strong presentation skills. Qualifications You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have: A strong working knowledge and experience with both generative and evaluative research methods. A degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Social Sciences, Market Research, or a related field with 3-5 years of job experience. The ability to work without close supervision while seeking out and welcoming feedback from senior leaders and managers. The ability to produce great work in a short timeframe and adapt to ever-changing priorities of the business. A self-starter mindset who is well organized and always looking to improve things. Minimum Qualifications Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years of experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area. 5 years' experience in market research, business analysis, UX design research, or related area. As permitted by applicable law, provide evidence of full vaccination as defined by CDC guidelines OR secure approval of medical or religious accommodation for the vaccination mandate. Preferred Qualifications Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position: Driving product development in a design research area, Market Research, Business Analysis, UX Design Research, or related area. Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area. Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare). Research or design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate). Knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies.
