Job Description

NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for a Senior Business Analyst  to support a critical Federal program. This is a remote position but they prefer candidates living in the DMV area as there will be periodic meetings on-site . This is a  Full-Time role with our client, a highly respected Federal Integrator. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a  Public Trust Security Clearance .

The primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Requirements Analysis and Documentation: Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of objectives and constraints. Analyze end-to-end business processes; create and maintain documentation for end-to-end business processes and technical components associated with it, such as use cases, user interfaces, data/information, workflows, etc.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze data sets to extract valuable insights, trends, and patterns, aiding in informed decision-making.

  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency with existing business operations, proposing and implementing solutions. Build and maintain as-is business process documentation for process improvement opportunities, requirements traceability matrices and knowledge management initiatives.

  • System Testing: Develop and execute test plans to ensure that proposed solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating effective communication and alignment between both parties. Present findings, recommendations, and proposed solutions to client executives, and to articulate verbally and in writing any questions and concerns that arise.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues in projects, devise strategies to mitigate them and ensure project timelines and objectives are met.

  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and project managers, to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related IT field.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience including program / project management, business intelligence / data analysis, Agile methodologies, SDLC and/or IT strategic planning and implementation.
  • Experience in MicroStrategy, Microsoft Power BI, Python (Programming Language), Data Visualization, R (Programming Language), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Jira, Tableau.
  • MicroStrategy Enterprise Analyst certification desired.
  • Strong IT background with experience on application development teams, with data management and reporting, and with collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Must have the ability to adjust to a fast paced, high volume work environment with demanding deadlines.
  • Must be customer focused and possess the ability to identify issues, analyze, and interpret data and develop solutions to user needs.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present findings, recommendations, and proposed solutions to client executives, and to articulate verbally and in writing any questions and concerns that arise.
  • Applying various methodologies to gather, organize and document stakeholder business requirements, including preparing and conducting stakeholder interviews, individually and in groups; preparing and hosting requirements workshops; preparing and managing surveys.
  • Ability to operate independently, proficiently and productively in an Agile environment of complexity, evolving needs and priorities, multiple simultaneous activities and deliverables.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with team members, clients, and stakeholders, and to interact with respect and professional courtesy.
  • Sole U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Public Trust clearance
