Job Brief: We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our Business Infrastructure team. In this role, you will collaborate closely as part of our Docs team to develop and implement a content strategy that enhances the structure and functionality of our documentation site. Your primary focus will be on ensuring an exceptional developer experience for our customers through clear, accessible, and well-organized content. As a Tech Writer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our product documentation, directly impacting how developers interact with and implement our identity solutions. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Develop technical content and code examples (Python, SQL, Scala, and R) that span the Auth0 product, focusing on Auth0's features and developer experience use cases Develop user-friendly documentation, including API documentation, technical specifications, user guides, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and coherence Influence and contribute to our information architecture using current content design principles Produce or use visual aids, such as flowcharts, diagrams, mockups, & screenshots, to complement written documentation Collaborate with product stakeholders including software developers and product managers, to gather information and understand complex technical concepts to create, define, and drive technical content plans Organize and maintain a centralized repository for all documentation, ensuring version control, accessibility, and ease of navigation Use content performance data and analytics to develop insights that drive planning, prioritization, and improvements Participate in usability testing and provide feedback to enhance the user experience of our applications Continuously improve documentation processes, tools, and practices to streamline content creation and maintenance, with alignment on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in technical writing Skills: 3+ years' experience working with developers facing platforms in a professional technical role; College degree Technical writer, product manager, engineering, developer relations, solutions architect, or field/support engineering background Good understanding of technical concepts like APIs and web applications. Experience with GraphQL, JSON and JavaScript - bonus Strategic thinkers who can identify opportunities in our content strategy, execute new initiatives, and then measure their success Demonstrated strong technical writing skills (we'll ask for samples) Technical project management skills and experience Amazing interpersonal communication. You can build relationships quickly and find successful outcomes across teams Working knowledge of current DevOps tools and practices Experience with Git and working in "Docs-as-Code" authoring environments Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with identity and access management (IAM) solutions or related technologies Knowledge of Auth0 products and services Familiarity with markdown, HTML, and other documentation formats Experience with developer experience (DX) optimization Background in UX writing or information architecture Proficiency in using analytics tools to measure content performance Experience with localization and internationalization of technical content Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders *High trust role, candidates MUST be available to travel on-site/in-person to San Francisco Headquarters for onboarding
