Job Description

Bronx House Day Camp Music Specialist will be responsible for conducting fun, engaging recreational music instruction to campers. This position runs June 30th -August 19th, 9:30 am-3:30 pm, Mon-Fri. 

Qualifications:

• A knowledge base in the designated area of specialty or equivalent/necessary training
• Demonstrated skills and competency as an instructor or artist.
• Understanding of conflict resolution, dedication, and mentoring concepts.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong group management skills.
• Must be a team player.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that age-appropriate activities are implemented for youth, grades K-10. Plan, organize, and oversee varied activities related to the specialty with the support of unit leaders, group leaders, CITs, volunteers, and other specialty staff.
• Build positive relationships with youth.
• Encourage youth to participate in all available activities actively; promote respect and teamwork.
• Prepare campers for Bronx House culminating activities and events/ performances.
• Provide a safe, structured environment for student learning.
• Attend all required trainings.
• Plan and post activity schedules, as necessary.
• Maintain and supervise the use of all specialty-related equipment, reporting necessary maintenance and updates regularly to the Program Director.
• Make periodic reports/announcements about the designated specialties.
• Report to and provide necessary assistance to the Director and Unit Leaders when specialties are not in session.
• Participating in the total camp program including, all-camp events, opening and closing day.

• Monday to Friday
