The Health Educator (HE) educates individuals and communities about health topics, promoting healthy habits, and disease prevention. The Health Educator works with patients in the RWB YouPLUS and PAWH 50PLUS programs and provides key education to clients living with HIV/AIDS about HIV transmission and how to reduce the risk of HIV transmission.
As part of the essential functions of this role, the Health Educator:
Qualified Candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in health, human, or education services with one (1) year of qualifying professional experience OR Associate’s degree in health, human, or education services with two (2) years of qualifying professional experience ( qualifying professional experience means verifiable full- or part-time experience in care coordination with the following populations: persons with a chronic illness, and/or persons with a history of mental illness, homelessness, or chemical dependence. Experience with families preferred.) Candidate must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally, demonstrate familiarity with computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word) and have excellent customer service, interpersonal, time management and organization skills. Candidate will demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the issues that underserved populations, people living with HIV and people who use drugs face, including health disparities that affect people of color at a disproportionate rate.
