Job Description
At JOSKO, we expect the new General Contractor (GC) Manager to take full ownership of overseeing construction projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with industry standards. The GC Manager will coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to align all project activities, including scheduling, material management, and resource allocation. Clear communication and strong leadership are essential, as the manager will be responsible for keeping the entire project team informed and motivated to meet project milestones and resolve issues proactively.
Additionally, the GC Manager will be tasked with maintaining the highest safety and quality standards on-site. This includes regular inspections of work progress, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and addressing any issues that could impact worker safety or project integrity. JOSKO expects the GC Manager to lead by example, demonstrating strict adherence to safety protocols and taking immediate action when potential risks or violations arise. Attention to detail in all aspects of construction management, from material sourcing to the final walk-through, will be critical to achieving JOSKO's high standards.
Finally, the GC Manager is expected to act as a liaison between the client and JOSKO, ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded. The role requires not only technical expertise but also the ability to manage client relationships, address concerns, and provide regular progress updates. Timely, transparent communication and a commitment to delivering high-quality work will help reinforce JOSKO's reputation for excellence in the construction industry, while ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: A General Contractor (GC) Manager oversees construction projects and engages in various physical activities, such as regular site inspections, walking, climbing, and occasionally lifting materials. They ensure safety compliance, sometimes demonstrating proper safety protocols and responding to emergencies. GC Managers may assist with minor repairs, operate light equipment, and supervise the setup of machinery. Additionally, they frequently handle blueprints, check building code compliance, and adapt to outdoor site conditions. While their primary role is managerial, they often balance hands-on problem-solving with oversight duties.
WORKING CONDITIONS: A General Contractor (GC) Manager typically works in both office and construction site environments. They spend significant time outdoors, often exposed to varying weather conditions like heat, rain, or cold. Construction sites can be noisy, dusty, and involve potential safety hazards, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The role involves walking, climbing, and navigating uneven terrain to monitor progress and ensure compliance. While some tasks are office-based, such as planning and coordinating, the job often requires physical presence on-site to oversee operations, resolve issues, and ensure safety standards.
