We are seeking a talented and motivated Director of Communications who is passionate about government affairs, journalism, and the legislative process. The Director will create and manage communications strategies. Their ability to research, analyze information, and effectively communicate with constituents will be crucial in serving our district effectively. Overall, the communications director’s role is equal to that of a public liaison and internal coordinator. Responsibilities Drafting and reviewing written deliverables such as media advisories, press releases, newsletters, and brochures. Creating digital, video, audio, and print content. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that messaging is consistent and aligns with organizational goals Managing the Assemblymember’s official website and social media presence. Coordinating rapid-response crisis communications. Organizing events and promotions to promote the organization’s message Planning events such as fundraisers, panel discussions, and press conferences.
