Under the supervision of the Captain, Adult Institution (AI), this position develops, plans, coordinates, organized and created procedural doctrine specific to mission based security within an institutional setting. Develops programs, schedules and operational protocols specific to all secured within and out of an institutional setting which are associated with the health care access of the inmate patients. Supervise and direct Correctional Sergeants and Correctional Officers within an institutional setting.The Correctional Lieutenant is responsible for the entire facility, ensuring the safe custody, discipline and welfare of inmates is maintained. The Correctional Lieutenant will develop, implement and practice safe management, assuring that compliance is established departmental/institutional policies and procedures are maintained.

California Correctional Institution is located in the Tehachapi Mountains approximately 325 miles south of Sacramento and approximately 120 miles north of Los Angeles.
CCI is a Multi-level, Sensitive Needs Yard, facility consisting of three (3) facilities, encompassed within a campus style layout with varied terrain. Work in this location may require exposure to varied temperatures dependent upon the season.
