About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the development and implementation of comprehensive fundraising strategies. The CDO will be responsible for securing philanthropic giving from a variety of sources, including foundations, individuals, strategic partners, and corporations. This strategic and vital leadership position demands a candidate with a deep expertise in fundraising, a proven track record in cultivating donor relationships, and the ability to spearhead efforts that align with the organization's mission of supporting children and their families through adoption, counseling, and other resources. The ideal candidate will be a visionary thinker, passionate about the mission, and committed to driving results, with a strong focus on donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The successful candidate will be expected to foster strong, trusting relationships with donors and key stakeholders, diversify the donor base, and partner with the CEO and board to solicit major gifts. They will also be responsible for overseeing the development of fundraising-related communications, managing a high-performing development team, and ensuring the effective implementation of fundraising plans. The role requires an individual with excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, who can work collaboratively across divisions and is adept at managing a fast-paced, challenging environment with a positive and solution-oriented approach. A deep understanding of diverse fundraising channels and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential for this position.
