We serve our local, diverse community with a curated selection of premium cannabis products in a boutique setting. Position Overview The Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Lady L Cannabis plays a key role in both daily store operations and inventory management. The AGM will oversee staff, scheduling, compliance, and inventory while also providing hands-on customer service and operational support. This role ensures seamless integration of inventory management with sales and a high standard of customer experience. The ideal candidate is an organized leader with strong cannabis retail and compliance knowledge, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Retail & Staff Management Staff Management : Supervise and support the budtender team, providing guidance, training, and ongoing development to ensure a high standard of customer service. Hiring & Training: Lead hiring, onboarding, and continuous training for staff to ensure compliance, customer service excellence, and product knowledge. Handle terminations as necessary in coordination with the General Manager to maintain a productive, compliant, and positive work environment. Scheduling & Operations: Create and manage staff schedules to ensure coverage, balancing operational needs and employee availability. Store Opening & Closing: Hold keyholder responsibilities, ensuring security and operational protocols are followed. Budtender Service: Assist customers with product selection, educate them on cannabis products, and process transactions as needed. Customer Service Oversight : Maintain a customer-focused atmosphere by addressing escalated customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism and empathy. Serve as a role model for excellent customer service and problem resolution. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all New Jersey cannabis regulations, including ID verification and packaging laws. Sales Goals & Performance Tracking: Monitor store performance, support the General Manager in achieving sales targets, and motivate staff to meet store goals. Team Collaboration and Communication : Foster open communication with the General Manager and team members, sharing feedback and updates to promote a cohesive, respectful work environment. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance customer satisfaction. Keep informed on industry best practices and new METRC requirements. Inventory & Purchasing Management Product Procurement: Oversee product ordering based on sales trends, customer demand, and stock levels. Inventory Tracking & Compliance: Ensure inventory accuracy by overseeing METRC compliance and conducting regular audits. Vault & Order Fulfillment: Maintain an organized and compliant vault system, ensuring efficient fulfillment of front-of-house orders. Product Lifecycle Tracking: Monitor product expiration dates and manage compliance for product disposal when necessary. Data & Sales Integration: Align inventory levels with sales data and customer demand to maintain optimal stock levels. Regularly update the Dispensary Manager on stock levels and purchasing needs. Supplier Relations: Work with vendors to secure high-quality products that align with Lady L Cannabis's mission. Qualifications Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old. Education: High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in business, management, logistics, or a related field is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a retail management or inventory role, preferably in cannabis or another highly regulated industry or retail. Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of New Jersey cannabis regulations or a willingness to learn quickly. Proficiency in METRC, POS systems, and inventory management tools. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods. Availability: Must be flexible to work opening and closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
